One of our absolute favourites, not only because they make (their own!) damn good coffee and have lovely snacks to go with it, but also because they have really been adding to the charm of our lovely neighbourhood.
Set in a lovely corner house on Lijnbaansgracht/Weteringschans and inviting & cozy with its lovely vintage furniture (you all should know by now that we love furniture with history), Back to Black become a favourite place for lot of Amsterdammers.
The clientele at Back to Black is a lovely mix of neigbourhood mums that get their coffee fix once the kids are dropped off at school, teachers during their lunch break, hipsters that need their coffee as much for the taste, as for the look ;-) , the (home-)office workers that need a little happiness during their break. And of course all kinds of local Amsterdammers that want to treat themselves to something nice when they are out and about in the weekends.

At Anecdote, you find wonderful knitware-basics that will stay with you for many years to come.
After offering different collections every season, Anecdote recently decided to go back to their roots and concentrate on seasonless styles. They concentrate on high quality wardrobe basics. You can seriously feel the difference as their garments are made only from the best materials. Slow fashion that lasts!
Adding to this personal approach, they also offer beautiful personalised items that they will customise in their little atelier which is located in the lower ground level of their shop.
A real neighbourhood shop from a wonderful Amsterdam based brand, that stands for the right things.

Ping He is a wonderful Illustrator, originally from Shanghai. Even though she studied to become a fashion designer, she now focuses on her own beautiful art. Her love for flowers and nature is reflected in her artwork.
Ping He recently opened her Atelier in the Souterrain of their home, which happens to be just one street away from us. You can mostly see her working through the window, and you will be able to see her beautiful artwork through the window as well.
She is always happy to meet new people and invite them into her beautiful studio. So feel free to walk by and say hello - and maybe purchase a little gift for yourself or someone else! She has wonderful greeting cards that would all also look gorgeous in a little frame on the wall!

Next to our beautiful B&B, we also run a wonderful project to support women in Driss' birth village at the foot of the Atlas mountains in Morocco. It makes us happy and proud that we are able to help empower women in Morocco to more independence and confidence. Most of our weavers work from home, which makes it easy for them to combine their work with their other responsibilities.
Additionally, it is so special to us, that we can give some of its original history back to our house. Our home used to be a 'weavers house'. It was built as a home for people from the wool and weaving industry and it feels wonderful to us to now have this same house filled with wonderful rugs once again! As if it was all meant to be.
Next to our webshop, we have a little showroom right around the corner from our home. We are always happy if you come by to take a look or just for a little chat!
Our Showroom is open from Wednesday - Saturday from 11:30-17:00 but we're also happy to meet you on appointment at a time of your preference.

All of our guests know our favourite restaurant, Buffet van Odette. They only work with the best suppliers and we love it there everytime because you can really feel the love that Odette and her daughter Lisa put into their beloved restaurant. It's one of those beautiful bistrot-style places where everything is right: the food, the drinks & the atmosphere.
Lucky for us, Odette and Lisa recently also opened a lovely little neighbourhood shop around the corner from us, where you can pick up your favourite Buffet-meals to enjoy at home. Next to that, they also offer lovely take-away lunches as well as goodies straight from their suppliers, like the most delicious wine and the freshest vegetables.
And of course, they also offer really good coffee to take away.
Great family plus: Our cute little neighbourhood playground is right next door. So the kids can happily swing around while the grown-ups enjoy their coffee or wine on-the-go! (In the winter, they also offer the most delicious Gluehwein)
